MAKE-UP Makeup & Adornment in 1 Tim. 2:9 & 1 Peter 3:3The teaching against women wearing makeup is lacking research and study, but in our study to determine if makeup can be appropriate for Christian women, we must first research the history of makeup and answer the following questions: When was makeup invented and for what purposes? Who wore it? Was it worn only by prostitutes? Is there historical proof of the use of makeup by Hebrew women? Jezebel and the other Old Testament Scriptures that mention "painting" the eyes are dealt with in a separate article.
